What types of threads are used in embroidery machines?

If you're starting an embroidery business, choosing the right thread is very important.

Here are the 3 main types:

1️⃣ Top Thread (Surface Thread)
This is the thread you see on the embroidery.

✔ Most common: 120D/2 polyester thread
✔ For small letters: 75D/2 (thinner, more detailed)
✔ For metallic colors (gold/silver): 150D/2

👉 Tip: Smaller number = thinner thread

2️⃣ Bobbin Thread (Bottom Thread)
This supports the embroidery from the back.

✔ Usually: 75D cotton thread
✔ Helps keep stitches stable and clean

Simple advice:
Good thread = better embroidery quality + fewer problems.

Choosing the right thread is just as important as choosing the right machine.
